“When I joined in 2021, I left a brick and mortar office but still wanted the feel of a supportive community. Real provides exactly that.” - Amanda Phillips

If you've ever wondered what drives someone to become a real estate agent, look no further than Amanda Phillips. For Amanda, it's all about her love for houses and her desire to help people find their dream homes. With 16 years of experience in the industry, she's turned her passion into a successful career, assisting countless individuals in making their real estate dreams come true.

Putting Her Skills to Work

Amanda has always been blessed with the "gift of gab," a skill which she honed in her first “grown up job” as a morning DJ for KADA radio station in Ada, Okla. After she and husband Jamie moved to Sherman, Texas, Amanda put her degree in Advertising and Public Relations to work pursuing a new career in real estate, effectively marketing herself and promoting her listings. As she gained momentum in her new field, Amanda saw that she was uniquely positioned to succeed in video marketing, ultimately carving out a niche for herself in the process.

Embracing Change with Real Brokerage

After 14 successful years in the business, Amanda embarked on a new chapter in her real estate career in 2021 when she joined Real. She made the leap from a traditional brick-and-mortar office to a virtual, more dynamic and tech-savvy environment. Amanda said she was drawn to Real because it offered the perfect blend of support, collaboration, and cutting-edge technology. She also appreciates the willingness of fellow agents to share their successful strategies, creating a strong sense of camaraderie within the Real community.

Giving Back to the Community

Amanda's commitment to her community is evident not just in her real estate endeavors, but also in her volunteer work. She believes in the power of giving back and has found that it's a win-win situation. “Volunteering in our community is my absolute favorite. I love meeting long-term residents and newly relocated people. Our town is growing rapidly, and it is my mission to be the connection for anything real estate-related in Sherman.” Amanda said. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Sherman Education Foundation, Sherman Symphony, and Grand Central Station Dining Car. She’s also the Vice President of the Athletic Booster Club and an Advisory Committee Chair for Sherman Parks and Recreation. Her impact with these organizations is far reaching, and her support is felt by the community she serves.

The Supportive Real Community

Amanda is passionate in her support of her local community, but she also loves the professional home she’s found through the Real community and raves about Workplace, Real’s virtual agent community platform. According to Amanda, it's a valuable resource for handling contract queries, navigating unusual client interactions, or simply finding motivation throughout the week.

“The Real community is so supportive!,” she said. “Every agent is happy to open their playbook and let you know what has worked for them. Workplace is a great tool for agents like me who are looking for inspiration and encouragement—I love that any agent is simply a chat away.”

Amanda Phillips is not your typical real estate agent. Her journey from radio DJ to video marketing maven showcases her unique path and dedication to her craft. With Real, Amanda has found a home where her passion for real estate, love for her community, and thirst for collaboration are not just recognized but celebrated.
